these were great remakes of the originals...i haven't played it in a while.

I like playing it too... My favorites would have to be Salamence and Metagross. My favorite type is the Dragon-type and I like the combination of the Steel and Psychic-types with Metagross.

You want geeky, try this on for size. My wife and I are trying to collect all the Pokemon games (the RPGs, not the stand-alone style games). We have all the original GB and GBC games. We currently have Diamond, Pearl, and Sapphire.

I have yet to finish FireRed and I got it just after Christmas.

I love leafgreen, I haven't played it in awhile though.., friend of mine had ruby?, was resetting so he gave me all his rare pokemons so my leafgreen has some pretty high level and rare pokemon, but still, nothing will replace my Blastoise!, Childhood fav.

I picked up a used copy of FireRed just last Tuesday. I needed some entertainment, and well to make a long story short, my SP broke three summers or so ago, and without the backlight it's a pain to play the old GB/C games.

I'm already at Victory Road. It wasn't a bad remake IMO. I don't like the remixes of the music all of that much, but then again I haven't really liked the Pokemon music all of that much after Ruby. (The first and second generations had the most awesome music and remixes.)

But, oh well... It's been enough entertainment just seeing everything revamped with GBA graphics (it's even more cool because I haven't played the first generation games all of that much since like 1999 and 2000, so it was refreshing.)

I also love how they added a female trainer! Of course it was inevitable, but it's great. That's one thing that I never liked about Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver - having to be a guy!

Now if only they could remake the G/S/C games. Those games were truly gold, and a remake of them is more necessary than anything else. The batteries have died on most cartridges... Nintendo can't let us lose the best generation!
