Do you throw things away?

Do you throw things away? I don't mean junk, because obviously (I think at least) most people don't mind throwing away junk.

I'm talking about things you just don't need or haven't used in a while. Like a spare mouse that may or may not work, spare keyboard, or whatever.

Things that aren't necessarily garbage but could be. Do you throw them out?

When my wife and I do our spring cleaning we've got one rule about throwing stuff out: if we haven't used it in the previous year, out it goes.

If I could find a recycle place to throw away all these old computer parts I would because it is just taking up space in my closet as well as an old TV. Otherwise I'll usually go through the place once a year and start trashing things.

Yes. I let the accumulate for a while with the intention of sorting through them later. But when the time comes, I just get tired and I end putting everything in the bin.

This is only for "junk"...but anything I attach a sentimental value to (even a receipt to a restaurant I went with a good friend) stays with me for years.

If it's something broken, then I will check around with friends and see if they want it for parts or something. If it's something that I just haven't used for awhile, I'll keep it. I'm kinda sentimental and tend to keep everything that I have any sort of memory associated with.

I hate throwing things away. But sometimes I get the urge to do a good clutter clear up and throw such things away. Afterwards I might regret it.

If it's not broken, I'm not throwing it away. I might give it up to the Salvation Army if it's something they need and I don't use anymore, but if not, then I'm keeping it in my closet to collect dust.

I have a perfectly good gumball machine in my closet that hasn't been used in at least 10 years. It still works, looks good and probably has some money in it.

My father and I hoard everything as far as computers. We build a lot of custom computers and all the paperwork we've saved has been extremely helpful more than once. Heh, from all of the parts we have stored we could build at least 7 computers. Albeit, Frankenstein computers with various parts, but still.
