Family/Friend death

This is stemming from the celeb death thread where Ice and AY said they aren't that affected...

I know this will make a lot of people sad, but just the thought of my sister dying brings tears to my eyes. :[ There are two people in my family who, if they died, I would be gone. I wouldn't be the same after that. My sister, and a family friend who is considered family.

The family friend was recently diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, she has been given a very short time to live.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend.

In response to the thread... Yes, just the thought of my parents dying makes me cry. And then I'll be super depressed all day.

I'm very sorry to hear about that, Iris. <3

I do have people that would make me severely depressed should they die. All I meant was that... I guess no one close enough to me HAS died that death has ever really gotten to me. It's always been uncles or cousins or people I've never really been close to anyway.

Should my mother die or someone like that, it'd ruin me, completely. But as of yet death just hasn't affected me much.

Same with me, I've never lived through a death of someone that affected me more than "oh, that's a shame." My grandad is the closest thing to it, but I wasn't born when he died, I just get sad thinking about what my dad must feel like (they were very close) but I didn't actually have to suffer his death.

Thoughts of people dying don't really get me upset. They may make me uneasy but I won't break into tears over it. If they actually died, then that would do something to me.

I didn't mean to make you sound cold, AY! I am the same, there hasn't been the death of someone close to me yet. But it's a matter of time.

My uncle killed himself when I was one or two years old. Obviously I don't remember him, so it didn't really hurt. Just an, "oh, that's a shame"

Most deaths to me go under the "what a shame" category.

There's only been one that has affected me deeply, and it was someone that I was very close to.

Oh, don't worry! <3 I didn't think you were trying to make me sound cold. I was just pointing out that I have the capacity to be distraught by someone dieing... it's just... I've never been the type to be upset by people dieing. I've had a few people close to me die... and it's not that I wasn't sad... it's just that... I tend to be good at people disappearing out of my life for great amounts of time, so... it's just... like that for me. That they dropped out of my life for a while... *shrugs* People go out, new people come in...

It'd have to be my parents or Mark dieing for me to cry about it, I think... (Mark is my boyfriend... who I know is going to be proposing to me around 4th of july... I found the ring and an e-mail to his sister with plans to do so... but I have to play retarded.) No one else really... maybe my best friend, Molly but I think that's it.

Sadly I have lived through it more than I would have wanted.
I lost my younger sister, my nan who I was very close to, a niece who graced my family with her beauty for six weeks and a friend who was like a brother to me.

All of these had a profound effect on me, I have lost other people where the I only felt the "oh thats a shame" type of reaction and in some ways I feel that losing those three family members and one friend who may as well of been family hardened me towards death in some way.
