My name is...(insert real name here), not...(insert messed-up version here)
If so, how many times has it happened? Was it misspelled, mispronounced or both? What have you been called instead of your actual name? I get my first name mixed up all the time! My real name is Juliet, (named after Romeo and Juliet) but I'll list the misspellings and mispronunciations below. These are crazy! Misspellings: Juliette Juliett Juliete Julia Mispronunciations: Julie Julia Julianne (Where the HECK do they get these?! Okay, I can see the first two, a little, but STILL!!!) Jo-Anne Violet Angela Amanda Anybody else have this problem? |

Like I said in the other thread, my name is Danny, and most people and teachers would always assume that my name was short for Daniel. It's not, my mother named me Danny. So anytime someone calls me Daniel, I don't answer.
My last name is Melnyk. with a Y. There is also a company called 'Melnick Motors'. So people always wanna spell my name Melnick, or Melnyck when they hear my name, and I'm like 'NO! Just a Y' lol. |

My first name has it's own special spelling which is Aleks, not Alex. Most people spell it as Alex and I end up correcting them and as well as my last name which is Culum..and sometimes you'd get weird spelling of it like Callum or Cullum.

My name is Dragan. I always get Dragon or Draco. My last name is even worse...

Just my family name, it's either ended with a single L rather than two, or ended with an "LS".
Doesn't happen often, thankfully. |

Mine is Stephen. I hate it when people use the "f" sound instead of the "p" sound for the "ph" in the middle. Drives me nuts. I started going by Steve in middle school because I would get so annoyed at people mispronouncing my name.
I was even announced as "Stefan Shaw" at my kindergarten graduation. |

People don't get Susan wrong, I have a problem with the nicknames. Sue is fine not Suze or Suz.

I think Amy is pretty easy to remember. People do often spell it A-M-I-E which does annoy me though - especially when they spell it wrong in an e-mail. Hello, my name is right there in the e-mail address!

My first name doesn't get mis-anything, my maiden name was always misspelled and mispronounced. For some reason it happens with my current surname too.
