Yeah, the prices are rough on some of the newer Nike models, $115+. My friend just bought a pair of basketball shoes with the pump in the tongue, they are so stupid.

The best time to buy shoes is off season. I've gotten most of mine for 50% - 70% off just by being patient.

So in the winter, all those shoes should've dropped in prices significantly?

It's really not expensive unless you want the most recent brand.

I like buying shoes in the US. You have sales, outlet stores and payless shoe stores.

You don't have sales in France? How expensive are shoes there?

We have "sales period". In fact the one for summer just started last week. Outside of this period, they can't go on sale (I think) unless store is closing or doing inventory. I checked some stores and they're not exactly great finds. Outlets is *almost* unheard of here compared to the US.

My last shoe purchase was for the kids (2 and 5 yo). Each (generic) pair cost me 35€.

That's rough, we have sales here pretty much all the time, and there are some like "4th of July Markdown!". You should just load up on shoes when you come here. :P

Yeah the off-season for shoes is pretty much now for those who live in the Netherlands. I'm gonna buy some new shoes in August.

I bought my Huarache Elite II TB for 96 dollars off eBay. Which isn't that bad when you consider the fact that this shoe never was released in the Netherlands and that the US dollar is weaker than the Euro. So it's roughly 62 euro, still cheaper than most basketball shoes in Dutch stores.

I wouldn't say i'm obsessed but my shoes do have a room of their own as i have so many pairs ( 63 pairs at last count) but i have had some for years and rarely throw them away unless they are completely knackered.
