So when do your Internet Friends become Real Life Friends? - Page 3

I have several people whom I consider to be my friends, I don't have to qualify it by saying "Internet friend", that I haven't met in person. I think the transition happens when you have several conversations outside of whatever forum you met on, and really get to know them and care about them.

I also know a couple that met online and are now married. One was from America and one was from Ireland. They made it work and are both very happy.

I would say an internet friend can be considered as a real friend if one of the following (or more):

1. We understand one another real well enought to talk about anything, personal or non.

2. We chat outside of the message board/IM servers

3. We can talk to one another face to face or through a webcam.
