I rant, therefore I am.

I see my mum and dad twice a week and we'll sit at the table together and have dinner. We have a laugh and a nice chat.
Sometimes I'll go shopping with my mum and mama. I rarely go but I know they both love it when I make an appearance.

I meet with my parents for a drink sometimes too. I love them both to bits but we're all busy so the time we to spend together is precious.

My sister lives in Scotland which is very far from here. I rarely see her but we speak on the phone and text each other. I used to love doing things with her and miss those days so much.

Nixola: i was gonna say something before you started talking about putting shortbread down your pants

Smelnick: Yah, except he's only 13/14 and I'm 22. I think I win
Bliss: yeah but you're a loser
Bliss: so he wins
Smelnick: Wow, I just set myself up don't i lol

Distance is the only thing that keeps me away from my family.
My mum does her best to come at least once a week for a visit and spends the afternoon with us.
When we do visit it's mostly for sabbath (saturdays) having meals together and resting from the week. As well as other holidays we spend with my family/in-laws.

Bored out of my mind.

My family members live in different countries (even different continents). My sis and I do belong to one forum together. I guess it's the most we do "together" these days. When we were not as scattered geographically, we share weekend meals and we have that annual "talkies" (a family session where we talk about what happened to our year, our plans, and how we feel about each other). My dad doesn't go to this session though.

I don't talk to my mom, dad or brother and sisters. Makes life easier.

But, I do spend as much time as possible with my girls. I go to all their soccer games and spend time every night talking to each of them.

I don't usually share any real activities with my family besides watching the football with my dad. We're active chatters but we've gone about doing our own thing in recent times. I used to play a lot of board games and watch classic tv together with them back when familys really existed. Well, heaps of little things really. I miss those times but this is the age of distraction now. The closest thing I could consider a family activity is my mum and sister sitting in on the football to be sociable.

It's true. I miss one too. Learning to be my own family.
