this is a hard question because most o the time I do not pay much attention to the story. I am a big nintendo fan but their stories in there games suck. Zelda series has some pretty good stories. Hmmm never liked RPG's much and I am guessing that they have the best stories.

Please do not tease me too much. I loved the story in Paper Mario for Nintendo Gamecube and I purchased it on my Nintendo Wii. I love mario games because I can really get into it and they have such a detailed plot line. Paper Mario had the action and the one on one that I love and it also had little missions to follow, which for me is the best. I am a girl who loves the Mario games and this is one of my favorites.

Guess no one knows METAL GEAR SOLID in here. They have the most sophisticated storylines. So cool , i respect Kojima for even thinking like the way he did.

Guess people are not so sophisticated anymore !!!!

Definitely OoT itself, was a great game, and a terrific story to boot.

Bioshock had a compelling narrative that was very unusual and pleasant; the tapes strewn about the game actually make the story both relevant and complete for a FPS. If the ending didn't suck so hard I'd be more adamant about it.

Other games that are worth mentioning are Beyond Good and Evil and Final Fantasy VII. Beyond Good and Evil had an interesting postmodernist twist, and was moody and emotionally involving; the cutscenes were also phenomenal. Final Fantasy VII had memorable characters interacting in cool ways; the fact that they killed a popular character really shows how dedicated they were to making a strong and dynamic story.

I'm really starting to enjoy the story from Half-Life. MegaMike got me into the game and I'm almost to Episode 1. I'm starting to get a slight addiction to it.

Half Life 2 is certainly excellent. Its my new favorite game story. I really got back into it because of the Orange Box, and being able to now play Episodes 1 and 2. I really want Episode 3 now... :(
