I think baseball is even harder to explain or understand than football. The objective isn't as clear as in other sports and there are a lot of quirky rules.
Also, I'd say rugby and cricket. I don't understand them at all. |

I think Baseball is fairly easy to teach, but maybe it's because I've been playing it all my life.Rugby is a good one, someone explained it me last summer, and it took her at least three tries till I really understood the concept of the game.I don't know if anyone ever try to explain you cricket. But I didn't know a thing about it before, and than one of my buddies explained to me, and it's so simple to follow the sport now.

Football has more rules, but the object of the game is more straightforward than baseball. Get the ball into the endzone or kick it through the uprights. Of course there's first downs, but I don't think that's very hard to explain. In baseball, you have to get players around the bases to home plate to score. But there's a lot more to it than that. Balls and strikes, hits, outs, moving from base to base, etc.

Its a tricky question and all depends on the depth of the explaination needed.
Rugby has a load of rules that vary depending where on the pitch the ball or the players are, and that complicates things a lot because you may be allowed to do something one instant and then not the next. I grew up with rugby so I know the game in detail so its quite hard not to understand. American-footballl is complicated before the play, but during it, it is pretty simple to follow. |

It depends who you're talking to. If someone asked me to explain any sport then I wouldn't be able to do it. My boyfriend tried to explain many things to me about football but I just look at him blankly. What's this offside rule nonsense?

Ive got to say cricket. There are so many different things that go into one game, and even three different kinds of game. Ivve tried explaining it to a few people, but it's something you have to watch for awhile before you pick it up.

I dont get cricket but its never been explained to me so i wouldnt say that. Baseball has lots of different variables in it but the general principle is simple, the right way to do it and what to do in different situations is where it gets tough for learners. I would have to agree that football is the hardest to explain. Theres so many rules that just by watching it you can pick up some but sometimes you wont understand what happened because youve never heard of a certain rule before. Plus the fact theres so many rules for offense and defense makes it twice as hard.
