Sound Card on Server IBM x3500 797722U
Hello Everybody!
I have the following problem: In my company we have an IBM x3500 797722U Server and we need to connect a sound card. We've already try a Sound Blaster PCI card but the server did not even started when plugged. I found the following information in the server manual: PCI slot 6 supports half-length 5.0 V PCI adapters only. PCI slot 1 supports half-length 3.3 V PCI adapters only. PCI slots 2 trough 5 support full-length 3.3 V signaling adapters only. The PCI configuration: - Slot 1 is a PCI-Express x8 slot with x4 links, PCI Express 1.0a compliant. - Slot 2 and 3 are PCI-Express x8 slots with x8 links, PCI Express 1.0a compliant. - Slots 4 and 5 are PCI-X 133/64 slots, PCI-X 2.0 compliant. - Slot 6 is a PCI 33/32 slot, PCI 2.2 compliant. I believe the useful information for this purpose is only this: PCI slot 6 supports half-length 5.0 V PCI adapters only. Slot 6 is a PCI 33/32 slot, PCI 2.2 compliant. So, here is my question: Which sound card (vendor/model) do you suggest for this server? I am not looking for the best sound card, but any that works! Thank you for your time. SERch!
