Talking Just installed my new heat sink!

Well my new heat sink / CPU cooler arrived a few hours go. Took a good two hours or so to install it because I had to put an anchor on the back of my motherboard. I had to take almost the entire PC apart.

The good news is that my CPU is now running at 32°C. It WAS running at 62°C before this upgrade. Hopefully I notice a performance boost with the cooler CPU temperatures. If anything my CPU will last a lot longer since it is no longer boiling.

Here's what it looks like:

what are your specs?

I have Gigabyte S-Series Mobo
Athlon X2 6000+ processor
1 Gbx2 G Skill

all running with stock cooling. I was just wondering if you have quad core or something crazy where u absolutely don't want it to overheat. if not, still a sweet heatsink!

sorry to be dissin your choice, but, no . look here: 9600 gt benchmark (a comparison between 9600GT a HD3870 and a 8800GT) and the 8800GT wins, while still being in the same price range. if i were you, i would go with the 8800GT... i had one of em (for about a week... didnt work with my mobo ) and wish i could use it.

That looks like an awesome heatsink!

I'm just using the standard Core-2-Duo heatsink that comes with the processor.

Again, some sunny day..

Results say that's a gooden. Quite a drastic drop in temp there. I'm using the stock cooler on my quad core. It's god damn enormous but it does the job.

Just got a Zalman VF-900 for my 8800GT myself, which had the worst stock cooler I've ever seen. I actually had some artifacting after a prolonged Crysis session. Thermal paste all over the place when I opened it up too. What a mess!

Any temptation to overclock now that you have that beauty sitting on top? And how's the noise?
