WHat do resistance bands do?

Can they help you run faster? or throw a ball for example a football farther because my brother has one and he told me using resistance bands can help with all those things and more because it helps like your muscles ''snap'' faster or something along the lines of that.
------
Anybody? I could really use some help about this.

Please?

It all depends.

In high school, our Quarterback did it and it gave him a more powerful throw.

I benched using bands since it gave me a quicker punch and quicker hands for defense.

We'd also put the bands around our waists, have someone hold onto the other side and run up the bleachers.

It can make you feel faster once you're done using them since you had someone holding you back before. It will make you faster in the end. Stronger. Throw harder.
