I think I was 13 or 14...I was at school and it felt like a tiger was trying to rip its way out through my abdomen...I thought something was seriously wrong and went home sick. Still feels like a cat slashing away at the inside of my tummy every time, but at least now I know how to ease the pain a bit.

I was 11 and screamed for my mum at the top of my voice. She's great at calming people down and helped me get through the first awful experience!
One thing I'll never forget though is I went to school and told my best friend, who then decided to run into the classroom and shout "Amy's started her period!!" at the top of her voice. I was so mortified.

Blimey 9 is a bit young.
I was 14 when I started mine. It didn't really bother me cos i had already learned about it and knew what it was about.
It was weird cos as soon as I started i grew boobs and hips within the space of a few months, lol.

well i actually had ovarian cyst that caused bleeding at about 8 that wasn't menstral. To take care of the cyst and whatever else there was wrong my doc started me on birth control at 8 it was about 6 months or so following that i started menstral bleeding...
i felt like such a horrible person

to be on birth control at only 8, although the circumstances called for it, at 8 i felt like a virgin whore...

I started in the 8th grade. I was in this after school thing called Team Up. Basically you stayed after school a few hours to just work on homework and hang out with your friends. When I got home I went to use the bathroom and did this

I went through the male "changes" at around 12.

I got hair where there wasn't hair before and I suddenly started thinking girls weren't horrible monsters who smelt funny.
