Free Agent Frenzy

Huge day in free agency yesterday, some big names were moved, Gaborik gone to Rangers, Havlat gone to Minnesota. I'm really happy with most of the moves made by the Habs yesterday. I love that they got Mike Cammerlleri, he's a solid player and he's going to help our team in many different ways. Spacek is also a good solid player, hopefully he can stay healthy. I am mad though that they got Hal Gill, I think he stinks. Losing Komisarek will hurt us though, he wasn't an amazing defenseman, but he blocked shots, laid out some good hits.

I'm happy Vancouver was able to re-sign the Sedins but we did lose Mattias Ohland and Jason Labarbera. So there are some holes to fill in the line-up.

Nothing much going on with the Sharks. I thought it was pretty interesting where players were landing, though.

Othlund was a good defenseman, but he is on the decline, losing LaBarbera isn't that much of a big deal, he can easily be replaced.

I am surprise the Sharks didn't do much to be honest with you, but they did a good thing in re-signing Blake.

Ohland was still a top four defenceman in Vancouver so he will be missed but can be replaced. I agree losing LaBarbera isn't a huge deal since Luongo will probably be playing in the neighborhood of 70 games anyway. The Canucks did pick up another player when they signed Mickheal Samuelsson formerly of the Detroit Red Wings.

I think that's a great pick up for them, I believe he's a real talented player, he just played in the shadow of so many great players in Detroit, so he didn't have his time to shine. He'll probably play with one of the Sedin's which should help him a lot. I see him having a great year, if he remains healthy.

Is Jonas Gustafsson worth it? Will he live up to the hype? Where will he land?

Good pick up by the Kings, Smyth is still a good player. Gives you experience and some scoring. I'd like to see this team good again. Have the Ducks and Stars miss out on the playoffs, the Coyotes and Kings in their places.

I think Gustaffson is a big risk, but a risk a lot of teams should take. I've seen him play a few times and I believe he's a great goalie, he's quick and he's good with the glove. I'm real interested to see where he'll sign and how he'll play in a tougher league like the NHL.

Well the Vancouver Canucks have found a back-up goalie to replace Jason Labarbera. Today they signed Andrew Raycroft.

Lets hope for the Canucks sake that Luongo doesn't get injured, because Raycroft is god awful. He hasn't been the same since winning that Calder Trophy a few years back.

Kovalev gone to the Senators, so pissed about that it's not even funny.
