I agree. A team would need to be almost perfect all around to even come close to touching that record and even then it probably won't happen. I mean come on 132 points was crazy and thats the same thing basically as 66 wins or around there and I doubt any team will be able to get that many in one season again due to the fact that teams today are not consistant. They can play good one night and win but the next night go out and lose. It's weird.

Another record that will not be touched will be Selanne's record of 76 goals by a rookie. I don't care how good a player is that will never be touched. To have that many goals to start off your career is just crazy and ever since then Selanne has been a top guy in this league. To score 76 goals in your rookie year is basically unherd of and I doubt that it will ever be tied or even came close to by a player now a days even with the NHL based on speed and youth today.

My Mood:
Offensive records, given the new offense of the game as well as the continuing push to make the net larger, are not safe, no matter what. If someone fantastic gets in a lousy division they could get over 92 goals for sure, as there will be more Gretzky types in the years to come.

Team point records and win records will never be touched because of what the cap does to it.

I don't know about the offensive records. I mean the game and all is still great and faster paced then ever but today with the bigger goalie pads and the speed of the defencemen it will be hard to break through for on average atleast a goal a game and today players can go down for a couple games out of nowhere which would increase the amount of goals per game the guy would need to average. It simply would need a very talented player and a lot of luck to touch most offensive records.

Most team point records should be safe due in large part to the cap as Kaz said because now teams can match up more often with other teams and this comes out well and were not going to see teams go on 10 plus game winning streaks much which you would really need to do in order to acculate that many points in a year.

I doubt that Orr's +133 rating will be broken, that is just a ridiculous stat and you wouldn't only need to be a great defenseman for that, but you would also need people scoring at a high frequency while you were on the ice.

And the other team to not get a point seemingly all year. But the thing with Orr was he could score a lot of goals and he was an amazing defencemen which meant that when he was on the ice the other team was usually shut out. Orr's record will never be even come within 50 of. I mean 133 is just crazy for a rating especially when today we see a guy with a 50 rating were like omg he is so good. I guess at that time he just had higher standards and he really lived up to it.
