Re: 22 inch monitors

I've hooked my laptop up to my 53" HDTV through the DVI input a couple of times, but it never looks as good as I had hoped. Movies look ok, but can you imagine gaming on something that huge?

Pete

Cool Re: 22 inch monitors

Hi Pete,

Was it a Sony HDTV? Just wanted to know because my friend has his Mac to Sony TV (Non-D) and the images looked great IMHO. What is surprising is he buys Sony TV's and then turns around and buys ViewSonic monitors.

Are ViewSonic technology superior to Sony or is he just saving some cash by not buying the name?

Curious,

Steve

In fact, it IS a Sony HDTV. It is a rear projection CRT that is native 4:3, but takes up to 1080i HD, which looks great. When I bought the TV, it was by far the best looking TV I could find in the 50"+ range.

I still think that the Sony's look better than the competition as far as TVs. Just bought my father a Sony LCD HDTV. But for computer monitors, I am not so convinced that the extra price for the brand name is worth it in comparison.

I agree with you all the way...haha the urge doesn't stop if anything it gets greater! I have had my eye on a bigger upgrade too. My friend had the dual monitors going and I thought that was cool but I personally see myself getting something large down the line and than call it a day...time for an upgrade. By the way awesome Avatar...iconic!!!!!

In fact.. words can't describe how awesome that would be... I'll do it someday when I have $10k lying around that I don't need for anything else.
My neighbor/landlord has a projector instead of a tv- gots the projector set up on the ceiling, pointed at the white wall above his staircase(goes to basement) which only has a short banister..

yup *nods head* that thing is freaking amazing! He holds meetings, can watch movies, hooks up his laptop to it...

I want one..

Of course, he owns 12 houses (7 on lakes) plus his, a couple in the mountains, and has like, 5 or 6 patents- so he can afford it.
