Can you provide a link? The only one I can find on the official site says it's free to try, then you have to pay $45

Yes it's free from the official site, it's not a limited time thing or anything, you can keep the free edition forever.
here is my definition of freeware
freeware - Definitions from Dictionary.com
So I would interpret goldwave as freeware, maybe some of us have different views.

I use Kazaa Lite, Internet Explorer 4 and Who Blocked You On Msn v3. y computr are run slow!!
Some others I use that haven't been mentioned yet:
Skype
Thunderbird
µTorrent
Pidgin
VLC Media Player

I checked that out already - it's an evaluation version.
While it's the full version, if it's unregistered and unlicensed then the software has a limit of 150 commands per session, and 2000 commands total. After that, you have to buy a licence to re-enable it.
