It's still high... 2.50 or so on the cheap end... but it's a lot cheaper than it was a while ago, when it was more than a dollar more than it is now. I don't have a car right now, I don't do much driving... everything I need is in walking distance from my apartment, and I like the exercise.

Not as bad....i just filled up for 2.10/gal
It's still a lot worse than it was in the 90s. 1 dollar gas was so nice... I think it wont go much lower than it is now though...there just arent many signs of it dropping. We need to just get off of it, stop giving the middle east money to blow on rockets and tanks, and all live happily ever after on electronic/water/ethanol/whatever fuel cars. |

Gas is...2.50ish, but California gas jumps around like crazy. Senator can relate.
It's still a huge problem in the grand scheme of things, but California's gone ape for alternative fuels. I get my license in early December. I already had to deal with filling up while getting my hours, and the gas was...damn bad in (but getting it at a broken Arco station was worse). Thank god I have a Prius. Kaz |

I think we need to switch over to bio-fuels. This would be ethanol-gas made from corn and biodiesel made from soybeans. This resource is infinitely replaceable, and we're the number one producer of corn. Brazil is 1st for soybeans, but we have good ag trading with them. Anyways, we're 2nd in soybeans. Additionally, the farmers would likely be able to exist without farm subsidy checks from the government. This would naturally mean lower taxes. Of course we wouldn't have to rely on foreign fuels to import it, so then the prices of fuel are perceivably cheaper from this. The only roadblock is an efficient and cheap way to process the corn and beans, however just recently new technology was developed to effectively use the whole corn plant in processing ethanol. Two companies in the town I'm living in for college have been making large strides towards 100% ethanol and biodiesel being a viable and cheap fuel substitute. If you want to know more, the companies are A.E. Staleys and Archer Daniels Midland(ADM).
An interesting side note: this town(a city to me), Decatur, Illinois, was the original home of the Chicago Bears franchise. And the Bears weren't the Bears at that time; they were the Staleys. The players were employees of Staleys too. |

I don't drive but I still hate when the prices are rising, my parent drive.
If the price of petrol continues to rise, I suggest the scientists make a car that goes on electricity In Melbourne The prices here are steady, I live across a pump station. *Looks Throught a window* The current price is 1.24c per litre. And Since start of the year, it has been rising mad, Once it was 1.50c Per litre And maybe at christmas, its gonna be around 99 c per litre, well, I hope so. I see less cars on our streets now, even during the day, looks like people look at the bright side and decide to take a walk to the Super Markets instead of using the cars |
