Marriage for child?

i didnt see any threads like this so here we go...... in the other thread by me about expecting ex brought up the point of being married before having a child but if your in a not so healthy relationship, is it really best to marry for the child with the possibility of divorcing higher, or is it better to keep the father in the childs life but not marry?

About the picture in my sig:

i'm sorry but he is sexy there is no denying that
echoes: i'd do him

it's one of the worst reasons to get married, unless you have already talked about marriage and were pretty sure that you were going to anyway at some point.

becoming a parent for the first tim is one of the most stressful things a person can go through even under the best of circumstances, and there's no reason to believe that having a child will make an already stable relationship any better.

dont forget to vote in the polll....... i agree althought people think its the right thing to do, with the rates of single moms by choice going up, i dont see why staying boyfriend and girlfriend is worse, then you dont have the pressure of marriage and a child and can just focus on the child and staying happy. i know a couple that have a son and have been dating for 20 years, they dont plan on getting married ever and it works for them.

I voted no. I was saying to be sure you have someone before you have a kid, but if you **** up and pop out a kid before you have a spouse, it would **** the child up infinitely more to have 2 parents who don't love each other.

There was a quote here, but the the person who SAID the quote and pretty much ASKED for it to be placed in my sig asked for it to be removed.

****ing ass...

I say no. I got married because I was pregnant and we all see what that's gotten me.

First mistake, staying in an unhealthy relationship. Second mistake, not avoiding getting pregnant while in this unhealthy relationship. Third mistake, getting married to this unhealthy relationship because of the pregnancy.

Didn't mean it to sound so judgmental.

Getting married because you're having a kid is a horrible idea. You should marry for each other.
