I'd rather them be large open maps like Sidewinder or Hang Em High. They require more teamwork, being able to cover your teammates from almost anywhere on the map. Close quarters combat seems kinda pointless if you're playing a team game on a big map.

Heh play the game man. Most of the maps are bigger in scale but they dont feel bigger.

They are significantly better than halo 2 maps IMO.

I love Halo 1 & 2, but Halo has got the original weapons. Most of the weapons were (obviously) downgraded for no.2, including the sniper rifle (my favourite weapon) so it feels so much better sniping on Halo1 than Halo2.

Haven't played Halo 3 yet, but it looks amazing

Halo 1, Halo 3, and Halo 2 in that order.

I can't even bring myself to play Halo 2 now. I guess since it was my only viable FPS option for so long that I forgot how excellent other games were. Halo 1 is easily better than the rest, even without an online multiplayer.

I think Halo 3 and Halo 2 multiplayer dynamic make them better games then Halo 1. I think if Halo 1 was on live I would probably rank it higher.

Also it's possible you had more fun playing Halo 1 than the other Halos because you had to play MP on a lan. Meaning your with people or not too far from them and most of them were probably your friends.

The introduction of random players in MP and the ability to communicat anonymously may have ruined the MP experience of Halo 2 for many.

I know I didnt like putting up with some random ****-talking 12 year old. Infact I stopped playing Halo 2 for almost a year on live after playing it religously prior to that.

In Halo 3 it's great you can't hear the enemy talk until the game if over and that's if you choose to stay in the lobby.

IMO the MPs of Halo 3 and Halo 2 were better but I did have a lot of fun playing Halo 1 on lans. LAN parties were fun and thats probably why I rank Halo 1 experience higher than Halo 2s.

Halo 3 IMO is the best of both.

I don't like that you can't hear them talking in Halo 3, it makes the game less realistic. I like being able to hunt people down because they don't know how to turn their music down.

But, it does get rid of a lot of the annoyances.

There'll always be a special place in my heart for Halo: CE.

Many a fun time I had playing over Xbox Connect into the early hours. Good times.
