Unbelievable...

My girls were playing GH3 on the X-Box. My youngest finished her song and passed it over. As her sister was reaching for the guitar, you could hear the sound of a static cling shock.
Of course they laugh "oh my gosh, you shocked me" ....now the guitar won't work. None of the colored buttons recognize when they're being pushed.

That's not good... Maybe let it sit for a day and try it again? Sometimes these things are temporary. Hopefully.

The guitar has a warranty, when did you buy it? I believe it's a 90-day warranty. Something like that should be replaceable without cost if it's under warranty.

It was a Christmas gift purchased in November, I'm still going to try to exchange it, who knows.
It's strange because we have hardwood floors and static shocks are pretty rare in our house.

I had a static shock from a GH controller blow out an old big screen television at my college. Of course, the TV was the biggest source of the charge.

Hopefully you get a new controller.

We picked up a new guitar yesterday. Apparantly, Sam's Club has a no questions asked return policy on their electronics, she said if it was a year from now, regardless of what happened, if I had the receipt I could still return it.
A friend of mine said they returned a broken TV there 3 years after they bought it and got a full refund.
