Thumbs up Fave Unpopular Movies

Is there a movie you really loved watching but it seems you're the only one who has seen or heard about it?

Or maybe a movie that made you think "too bad this movie didn't make it big in the box office". Especially considering how many ****ty films are there that become hits...

Name your favorite (unpopular) movie/s here.

I liked House of the Spirits (1993). The movie was based on Isabelle Alende's novel La Casa de los Espiritus. Great cast too: Jeremy Irons, Meryll Streep, Winona Ryder, Antonio Banderas and Glenn Close.

It talks about politics (latin american dictatorship), family values, paranormal stuff, love, etc. I haven't met many people who have seen the movie so if you missed this, I highly recommend it.

I really liked Vanilla sky but critics absolutely rip it to shreds.

Well, I really love the japanese animated film 'Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi' (and many other Miyazaki films for that). I think Disney purchased the rights for a USA version a while back, named Spirited Away. In any case; I've never met a single person, offline, that knew of it. Fantastic animation, imagination and story.

Aha! I know it. It's called Le Voyage de Chihiro in here. In fact I just bought its DVD last month (upon Veg's recommendation) together with other of Miyazaki's films. Ask Bliss to watch it with you, then you'd have someone offline to share your appreciation for it.

High School High. It's a comedy that nobody I ever ask seems to know about. It really makes me laugh. I used to watch it a lot when I came in from school.

Mom told me never to talk to strangers, and you're pretty strange.

Whenever I mention how much I like LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN my friends look at me as if I've just vomited on their shoes. I also liked THE PHANTOM and THE ROCKETEER but nobody I know seems to have even heard of those movies, much less watched them.

The Phantom is a seriously underrated superhero movie. I never watched The Rocketeer, or if I have, I was very young. I vaguely remember it.

Another movie I like is the Life of David Gale. I heard it got zero rating by a critic (the lowest score he ever gave).
