Everybodies got to take breaks once and a while else they'd probably kill each other sooner.

Take Aerosmith - they are getting an unexpected break now that Tyler has entered into a rehab facility yesterday.

every good band needs to take a split every now and again. Maybe it will do them some good.

I see the Chili Peppers as the band that takes a long hiatus and comes back to write an album similar to Stadium Arcadium or something.

No way! I love RHCP. I hope they do get back together after some time out. I'll be absolutely gutted if that's the end.

Crazy! I only have Stadium Arcadium, but it's an incredible 2-disc album. I actually listened to it in the car today! Sad news.

Wait what, NO! My heart jumped when I saw this thread. I basically grew up on RHCP and I have always liked them and their music. This is a sad loss for the music industry, luckily we still have the Foo Fighters. I'm just glad that it wasn't a bad breakup like some bands have had. Hopefully they will reunite for one last tour sometime in the future or join back together later on to rock it out for many more years.

I never was a huge fan but they had some good songs and it surprises me that they broke up. I wouldn't doubt flea doing some solo work or joining another band.

They always take breaks.. anyways, don't they make an album every 5 years anyway? so.. the split is going to be as if it never hapend. I used to listen to RHCP.. then when Dani California came out, i got even more hooked to them. it dosnt bother me though, whether a band is aplit or not split, shouldnt make a difference in your ,life. you still got their music lol

It's always sad to see a good band split up. But it's understandable if they were getting tired of it. Music is music is music. They'll probably get back together at some point in time to make some more music. They're all still friends =P
