There are 6 and 12 year old kids doing this dance. Most of whom I don't think qualify for 'chickenhead' status
Which is more or less Ice T's point, since the artist is a kid himself, it directly translates to being kids music even though the lyrical content is of an explicit adult nature.

As far as Ice-T's rapping goes unrelated to the discussion, in my book, once you got actor that plays a rapper there is no coming back.

if their parents are letting them listen to that garbage, then obviously something is wrong. when i think of "kids music" i think of "kids bop" or that disney music channel, not "superman dat ho".

This is IceT's entire point. Music like this song in particular makes parents angry at "hip-pop" because they have to monitor it. And seriously, with Mp3 players, downloads, file sharing etc. It isn't really that hard to believe that kids know this song even if their parents won't "buy" it for them.

My point is, adults aren't requesting to dance to this song, small children are now. When it was new a year ago, older teens and some young adults maybe but now that it is older just the kids like it, and again, because of his age it is targeting that age groups demographic.

You blame the parents which is your opinion, I think that is a harder task then you think though. I listened to whatever I wanted when I hit a certain age because I loved music and looked for ways to find what I liked regardless of an advisory sticker and its far easier to obtain music these days.

Ice T blames the artist, probably because he is one himself and can't afford to blame the 'labels'.

I don't have a record deal, so I say F the label. They should take the brunt of the responsibility on the issue IMO.

A lot of people can blame the artists, but you never really see anyone take shots at the labels themselves. Mr. Collipark has his milk cow and pretty much has signed rappers of the same caliber as Soulja Boy. The A&R company is the power behind the so-called music, therefore, promoting whatever the rapper represents. Just look at Collipark's music history. Mr. Collipark - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
All of his music affiliations were not-at-all kid friendly. His so-called genre "Snap" music is a cheap way of reaching a younger audience which, in my opinion, come with a price and a not very good one.

Yeah, I think both are right, and Souja Boy is just part of the current state of matters. I doubt most people even care about lyrics anymore. They just need one line they can easily recognize and repeat. Isn't there a genre for "party" songs or something? A lot of hip hop artists could fall into that category.
