When did you guys start listening to music, or when did you find out what kind of genre you liked?

I was basically surrounded by Asian music up until the 4-5th grade. During 5th grade, I went along with the crowd, listening to the latest boy bands like Backstreet Boys, and bands like Blink 182...

Around middle school, I found a couple mainstream radio stations and a couple rock stations. I slowly leaned towards the rock area.

Around 7 or 8th grade, I got my ipod and it's history from there. Over the summer, I got my own computer and downloaded Limewire, and that opened me up to the rest of the musical world. I was able to explore all sorts of music from rap to jazz to techno to country...(doesn't mean I've never ever heard of those before)

Now, I've mostly settled on rock ranging from pop/rock to the occasinal metal, oldies, and some ipod worthy mainstreamers...

I like everything, but when I was growing up I listened mostly to old sanish music thanks to my parents.....didn't understand them but I loved the beat and style they had back then (not to say its any differnt now).

During elementary through middle school I was introduced to hip hop, R & B, and rap thanks to my brothers who listened to it a lot. But I also dove into Pop as well. But what caught me the most was mostly late 80's and 90's dance music. Which eventually got me into Techno.

Techno is my main forte in music pleasures, but after a while I started to get into Classical and Country. Completing my list of all the major genres. I'm still a big fan of Techno but still dabble in everything else when I'm in the mood. DAFT PUNK FOREVER!!

I wasn't a big music listener until I got my first iPod for my bithday. That was about 4 years ago. Since then I've gotten way into music.

Well I never started listening to music a lot until a few summers ago when I really got into a few new bands and a lot of metal and stuff like that and then it started to grow and eventually I started to download songs and now here I am today and really what music don't I like? lol

well my grandfather has had a band since before I was born so I basically grew up listening to music
