Best I've heard is Dark Tranquility and Kalmah.

If this is what I think it is, then I love it. My favorite band so far is ChthoniC, but they haven't come out with that many songs yet.

I'm going to have to take a serious no on this genre of metal. I could never seem to get into it.

You're talking about bands like Nightwish and Jute, right?

I've never heard those bands, Melodic Death is like death metal with more melody in the guitars and less thrash in the vocals. It seems to be a growing genre now and the bands I've heard have great production value with some of the best guitar solo's.

A good melodeth band i like is MyChemical Romance!!

I like Children of Bodom, and well, arch enemy. Lisnt to AE song: Nemisis
and children of bodom: Lake bodom, or Angles dont kill.

I was about to stab you for that 'my chemical' statement..

CoB is alright and Arch Enemy is good, but neither are Melodic Death metal. Not very many bands would be considered in the Melodic Death genre..

But since this might as well jus be a Metal thread..

Pitbulls in the Nursery is the best hardcore Metal band..
They are just so damn solid and set themselves apart from others since they don't have thrashy vocals going off constantly.

I'd say those two bands don't have enough melody in their guitars to be melodeath..

I may be wrong..

I guess they could be conisdered power metal.

I've always seen them classifyed as melodic, but power works just as dandy :)
