Agreed. Lots of people do humaitarian work. To me that's enough to give him a tribute. My opinion is Mother Theresa deserved a bigger tribute.

What is your stance on these three issues:

1. Did Michael Jackson really have melanin removal treatments or do you believe when they said he suffers from vitiligo (a disease that affects skin pigmentation)?

2. Michael Jackson has been acquitted of all molestation charges (including conspiracy and alcohol). Do you think he's innocent or despite the exoneration, he deserves to be treated like a pedophile?

3. Does Michael Jackson deserve the tribute he's been getting in the past days?
1. I basically believe exactly the same as Snap here.

2. I believe that he is innocent. He had a lot of problems and sure he wasn't exactly "normal" and maybe kids did sleep in his bed etc, but I don't believe that anything sexual happend between him and kids. I just don't believe that to be true. He has children of his own. Plus you can't argue with the law - if the law says he's innocent then judgement has been passed and has came to the conclusion that he is innocent. "Everyone is innocent until proven guilty" and he is innocent since he was not proven guilty.

3. I believe that yes he does deserve the tribute that he has been getting. He put his life and soul into his work and into his music and the music industry. He deserves to be recognised for this. He has brought amazing music to many generations of people and will continue this on in his death.

1/ i beleive that he did have that vitiligo disease coz its kinda obviouse in some of videoes ...

about the nose he clamed in "Living with MJ" interview that it helped him to HIT higher notes ...

but i think its because his father used to cruly make fun of his nose

2/ for the first case the kid himself who is now "i think" 26 .. said that what he told about michael was lie and that his father was just looking to get some bucks "20$ million" from michael which he got ....

for the second case i still can't imagine that he "MJ" would ever do somthing like that to " a kid who has cancer" ..

i maen what the hell???!!! and he turned out to be innocent after all

3/ Are you serious??!!!

hell yeah he does and i think he deserves more and more and more for what he does in his "short" life

Honestly, I feel inclined to believe that the accusations were true. But it is also a possibility that he made poor decisions by letting boys sleep in his bed and at his house, and then had the finger pointed at him for allowing them in his bedroom.

I have never been a true fan of his music, but I do think that with the number of hits he had, and the large following he had, that he should be recognized to some degree. However, in my opinion death is death, I don't see any reason to celebrate one person's more than another, but I am not a star struck person by any means. So, to me all the fuss seems a bit large, but on the other hand I can see where his impact deserves it I suppose.
I sometimes wonder if his poor decisions backfired on him. MJ seemed to be naive and childlike in a lot of ways. I kind of think maybe the boys' parents could taken advantage of that and made accusations. I don't think I will ever be able to make up mind on the child molestation accusations.

I believe that he had it (or may have had it) - but I believe that it wasn't the disease that made him white. I believe that having the disease, as well as his father constantly telling him he was ugly, perhaps racist stereotypes of the era, etc, all added up to give him an obsession/desire to be white.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I believe it's possible, given his mental state. However, I also believe that if anyone could be innocent of the charges, it's him. His mindset was literally that of a child, so perhaps in his mind it was completely innocent. Who knows?

I would say to some extent, yes. Tribute is definitely deserved to a degree because of his popularity and success. Elvis received the same tribute (and is still popular today) - both are 'Kings' and legends of music. Both deserve tribute. However, I believe the media have overrun this story. It's been a good enough amount of time for it to have blown over by now. It's starting to get old.

I have read an article about it lately. The child is grown up now and he restates how he was just made to lie before. He said he feels bad at how the lie has helped ruin MJ and now there's no way for him to express this regret in person.

yeah thats right .. but where has he been all these years??!!! ...

its been 16 years for god sake ... and its well known that MJ's life was ruined after the accusation ...

so no matter what he says now, it'll never help him forgiving himself for what he's done

1. I honestly only know what I've read in this thread. I'm inclined to believe that he had vitiligo and had bleaching treatments to combat the blotchiness.

2. This is a hard one. In the end, I've always felt sorry for him. He had this awful childhood with this douche of a father (which we saw first-hand when his father promoted his new record company during the press conference for his son's death). I'm not saying it would excuse child molestation had he done it, but that it puts a spin on it. Like I've said elsewhere, I feel the same way about this that I do when it comes to other "criminals". Some people take their bad experiences and overcome them to be better people. And some people just crumble. I think MJ just crumbled.
Some of his actions were obviously messed up. When he dangled his baby over the balcony, he later said that there was no harm cause he had a firm grip on him and just wanted everyone to be able to see the baby. That sounds, to me, like something a child would say. I think MJ was mentally and emotionally stunted when it came to decision-making cause of his lack of a childhood.
So do I think he did it? I honestly don't know. I lean towards no. Especially now that you guys say the first kid is coming out and saying he lied. But then again, why now? Why after MJ's died?

3. Yes, he deserves a big tribute. But this recent tabloid exploitation ****? No. No one deserves that. I can't believe some of the **** they air.

From what I could tell he had the disease. But, he also did some serious damage to himself via surgery.

He was acquitted and that's good enough for me. After some of the stuff I've seen lately, I think he was truly asexual. In a lot of regards, I think he was a 10yr old kid trapped in a man's body. Why was he still a 10yr old: the media? his father? Don't know if we ever will know.

From music fans, I can understand it. It bothers me that legitimate news channels are non-stop MJ, there are plenty of channels that will cover it. Personally, I just get my fill of it in 15 minutes and then I feel like I'm staring at a car wreck. I'd rather just let him RIP.

Are they still doing it? Right now, only the nonStop news channels (not the national main news channels) are talking about him in length.

Speaking of tributes, what was the plaque they gave MJ yesterday? The one presented by the girl from the House of Representatives?
