Why would he cover a scar, though? He lives in a village of ninja; injuries and scarring aren't uncommon.
In a three page sidestory in the manga a waitress and cook see his face, and it was apparently beautiful enough to cause both of them to blush; I subscribe to the idea that he has abandonment issues and doesn't want people getting close to him because of his face.

I higly douth that he is that handsome. It's one thing ot be handsome, but really, to a point where he fears people will ge tot close to him becuase of it. I think not.

kakashi is just the man. I read the manga and it shows that he doesnt where the mask because of any disfiguring or because of his eye because he wore it when he was younger before the sharingan. I think it is just like a gamily thing that they do. I believe that it is kinda like their signature.

The Sharingan is the only reason he'd probably wear the mask in the first place, otherwise, there isn't much reason for him to hide his mouth lol.
