Frustrated Allen Calls Out Sonics Offense

Seattle Times -
Without pointing a finger or singling anybody out, Ray Allen attributed the bulk of the Sonics' problems to the point guards' handling of the offense and a lack of frontcourt scoring, with the exception of forward Rashard Lewis.

The shooting guard's frustrations have been building since the start of the season. And during the course of this disappointing 7-11 campaign, he has made pointed, but not overly critical statements about the offense.

It was only a matter of time before Allen had a meltdown, and on Saturday night, he came as close as he has all season.

"Offensively, the ball never came to my side," he said. "I tell Luke [Ridnour] and Earl [Watson] that they got to get me involved in the game in the first three quarters instead of waiting and trying to figure out what's going to happen, because I do some good things out there on the floor.

"Teams sit a man in my pocket, so my point guard has to do a better job of getting me in the flow of the game, because it's only going to result in good shots for them."

"How to hit home runs: I swing as hard as I can, and I try to swing right through the ball...The harder you grip the bat, the more you can swing it through the ball, and the farther the ball will go. I swing big, with everything I've got. I hit big or I miss big. I like to live as big as I can." Babe Ruth

This is no good for both Ray Allen and the Sonics. They need to get on the same page and work together. That's the only way we'll see success from them instead of these problems.

Without him the thing isn't really nothing, yes they have great players like Rashad Lewis and Ridnour, and Wilcox, but Allen is obviously the leader, and the best player on that team. He also has the right to complain about not getting the ball, because he's making all that money to take most of the shots, and Watson and Ridnour have to realize that he's the key player to win those games.

Sounds to me that Allen isn't having a great time with Hill in Seattle right now. As long as he's coaching the SuperSonics, I don't think they will ever see eye to eye on things when it comes to playing on the court and in terms of winning. I say they should dump him now, or never..or at least now so they don't have to give Sonics fans a horrible season to leave a sour taste in their mouth's when the offseason arrives and they fire Hill.

I tell you one thing, Antonio Daniels really sparked this team the other year, and without him, they've been a little more of a mess. I like Ridnour, he's a great kid, great player, but Daniels just done a few things that Ridnour couldn't do -- and the sad thing is, I don't even know what those things really were. It's kinda hard to explain. Davis just made differences on the offense side of the ball and set up Allen and Lewis nicely in the 04-05 season. Letting him go was a mistake IMHO.

Im watching NBA coast to coast and thy were talking about how Ray Allen's 3pt% is 31, but Ray is one of the the best if not the best shooter from three, they attribute this decline to the ball change alot of players are struggling that havnt in the past and the ball may be to blame.

SportsDude I don't agree with you. I'd get rid of Hill before i'd get rid of Ray Allen anytime. Ray Ray is the best player in your team and they all know it, so why they don't feed him the ball more often? Because the coaching staff are stupid. Ray Allen is a game changer and a complete player that can win you games easily. He never complained before and now that the team is losing he wants to something about it and he knows he can score 35ppg for them, but how can he do it if they don't feed him the ball?
