Nintendo Power: 20th Anniversary Issue

So, did anyone else pick up the 20th Anniversary issue of Nintendo Power? I bought 2, one to keep sealed in the foil packaging and one to read.

There was a lot of nostalgia articles and a really cool fold out poster. There's even a comic featuring a grown up Nester (the star of the original NP comics) with his song playing Mario Kart Wii.

I still have many of the original Nintendo Power issues from the '80s.

I subscribed to Nintendo Power for a year to get a free copy of the Zelda collector's edition. It's a pretty sub-par magazine. I did not renew.

No. If I did it would just end up being clutter for the next year and I know I'll never have any need for it except looking at it one time. Even if it is a special edition.

I have never ever had nintendo power, who wants a magazine about nintendo? It's called the internet. It's just always seemed sort of pointless to me to get a nintendo magazine.

"Ohh! OOOhhh!!!-Oh and again! I made it. I know it. I can't see it but I know I made it. Oh my God I made it. Alright, don't give up. This is for everything. This is when I don't have to do it. This one right here is when I don't have to do it, which leaves nothing else but the one. No I don't think so. Not there. God I wish I could turn the volume-OH **** Aahhh son of a **** I talk too much. ****." - 00vega -

You gotta remember that Nintendo Power started prior to the internet so it was really our only true source for codes, tips, etc.

Yes, the magazine does seem a bit pointless at this point, thanks to the internet. But by the same terms, Electronic Gaming Monthly, Playstation Magazine, Tips and Tricks, and the rest of those type of magazines are pointless now.

I no longer have a subscription but it's nice to know that the video gaming magazine that really started it all has managed to hold on for 20 years, despite the emergence of the internet.

I subscribed to EGM for a couple years, and while you can find most of that stuff on the internet, at least it offers objective reviews, something Nintendo Power obviously can't do.

I'm only 15 though so the magazine has always seemed pointless to me I guess that it probably would have come in handy before the internet was huge though.

Anyway, I just started this topic to see if any other Nintendo fans bought the 20th anniversary issue for nostalgic purposes and to reminisce about the magazine and how it's changed over the years.

I love Nintendo Power!!! I like mario vs wario too and ginji's rescue team. Good idea with the foil.
