Nintendo almost has too many great games to decide which one is their biggest hit ever, but alas I have narrowed it down to the games that really do qualify for the contest.

Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario 64
The Legend of Zelda

those are probably the 3 main choices but there are plenty of other great hits by nintendo.

Sorry no Ocarina Of Time or Goldeneye 007 they just didn't seem like logical choices for me but feel free to vote for those games.

My vote is a definite Super Mario Bros. without question, everyone who played this game knows how good it was, and everybody still loves this game today, plus everyone knows about this game, I mean everyone.

I'm sorry but I must disagree. I think the biggest hit Nintendo ever had was Super Mario Bros. 3. It had everything that the classic SMB had and much more. Better bosses, more levels, more items, better graphics, awesome music, a better variety of enemies, and really awesome box art.

MarioKart easily. I would say Goldeneye but it wasn't everybody's niche.

1st - Super Mario Bros.
2nd - Tetris
3rd - Super Mario 3

They all sold more than 10 million copies and Super Mario Bros. had to sell more than 30 million. So, with that, I'll be placing Super Mario Bros. first. With that, Super Mario Bros. was a classic and anyone who is anybody loved that game. It was very popular.

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are the best IMO! They are the only games that you NEVER get tired of playing and there's always something left undone to drag you back in!

Super Smash Bros gets my vote. Either Melee or Brawl.

The thread isn't about what you think is the best game. Those games clearly aren't Nintendo's biggest hits ever.

I'd say Super Mario Bros and Ocarina of Time.

I believe it was the Original Mario and Tetris game that came out for the console/handheld. everyone wanted them and it caused riots around the world, lol. But other than that, it was just something new and to this day Mario and tetris are still played :D:D

That's how everyone is responding though. I was going to ask myself whether or not this thread is actually about the "best" game Nintendo made or the most profitable.

Super Mario Bros. got the most copies sold. From what I can find at least. So that.

EDIT: A closer looks seems to show that SMB's sales were thanks to it being bundles with the NES

It seems Pokemon Red/Blue was actually the best selling, non-bundled game.
