I watched the opening ceremonies, and I thought the opening part with the drums was by far the best part of the whole thing. The rest was good, but the drums stole the show in my mind. The ending fireworks were awesome too. |

I'm spitting nails at my own network, NBC. I'm a cable subscriber here in Bend, Oregon but apparently we're not an "approved TV provider" so we can't watch the streaming video! Absolutely ridiculous.

I love fireworks so their fireworks display just awed me. While I watched part of the opening ceremony, I switched channels to see the political side of the show (all those rallies going at the same time as the opening ceremony).
I don't have Eurosport channel so I have to just watch whatever the local news networks would show from all the games running at the Olympics. |

I watched part of the Artistic portion of the Opening Ceremonies last night, they did some really cool stuff.
I'll probably flip through and watch an event here and there. Gymnastics and Diving are my favorite. |

Well Phelps is off to a strong start, he broke his own Olympic record in the 400-meter by 1.44 seconds. The guy is a monster I just love to watch him compete. He's one of the best athletes in the world. I really hope he gets eight gold medals.
