I remember when they announced the winner

I was in France oddly enough and watched on the TV as 1000s of Parisians outside the Hôtel de Ville did a half leap followed by a sigh. I must admit I burst out laughing, it was the certainty on their faces followed by dispair at what had happened. Im cruel I know.

Sadly the following day the suicide bombs went off in London

I was just talking to BEE about it. He asked me if I was disappointed. I said yes, especially the day they told us we lost it. But then the terrorist attack happened after and it was difficult to stay jealous after that. There was a shift of focus from Olympics failure to the tragedy.

Ah too bad Izy!!

Yeah London went from absolute joy to despair the following day when the London bomb attacks rocked the nation.

I just hope for a smooth four year that are running up to our olympics.

Smooth four years? Heck, I'd settle for my wife finding a job. Oh, that and no world wars. Please. If Russia picked Day 1 of this year's Olympics to invade Georgia and remind us all they are big and strong and powerful, yadda yadda, what in the world will they do in 2010 when it's Vancouver's turn? (Nobody mentioned the NEXT Olympics tonight, did they?

Well, it's all over and that was a good closing ceremony. It was longer than it should have been, though. Some singing from Jackie Chan (), performers and lots of fireworks... I wonder if they're real this time. Still, great closing ceremony nonetheless.
