Michael Phelps

Now everyone knows what he's done in his short career. He's been dominating the swimming world ever since he started competing competitively. This year he has a chance to win eight gold medals, he's won two so far.

Now my question is this, since hes just dominating his sport, and breaking records everytime he competes, do you believe he should be mentioned in the same breath as these athletes:

Tiger Woods
Roger Federer
Michael Jordan
Wayne Gretzky

Probably should wait until after the Olympics are over, but yes, I think he deserves to be mentioned along with the other greats. He's going to go down as the greatest Olympic athlete in history.

Of course, I don't see why he wouldn't be mentioned with them.. Just because we don't see him as often??

It'd be a dishonor if you didn't mention him with those same athletes.

I watched some of his races last night (I recorded them) and I have to say that they really and I mean really killed the world record on the 4X100 relay that was insane how fast that was.

I'll probably get to watching more of the swimming tonight maybe a bit more of the gymnastics, but I'm still waiting for the track events next week.

Oh no doubt in my mind he deserves to be categorized with those athletes. Hell in my honest opinion I feel he is better than those Athletes. The stage he competes on is not in front of the same crowd every other night or every weekend. He gets to really shine in front of his real crowd at the Olympics... thats 1 event every 4 years!

Michael Phelps are what the Olympics are truly about if you ask me. The Real Olympic Heroes who bust their behinds during their offseason and train for this major event, represent their country and bask in the glory.

Phelps is a machine. Can you imagine what he can accomplish if he particpates in multiple more Olympics?

If he competes in the next Olympics and is still as dominant as he is now, he could win 20 gold medals for his career. He's tied for the most ever with 9 right now.

Exactly. What he's doing is above and beyond anything that I've seen. I marvel at Tiger Woods and what he's done but he's got nothing on Phelps. This is domination at its finest.
