As for USA, I thought Argentina gave them a hard time at the end of the 1st half.. but then for the last 30 minutes of the game it's safe to say it was pretty one sided. Now with Lithuania and Argentina out of the way what more can you say about this USA team.. they beat Spain last week by what, 40 points? It's over. |

The 2nd quarter of the ARG/USA game was pretty intense. If they had Manu maybe they could have won the game or at least have a better chance at winning the game.

I hope that people don't use the absence of Manu being the major factor why they lost the game. I know he only played six minutes, but he was very effective in the six minutes that he played in my opinion.
I'm really angry that the gold game will be at 2:30 am Sunday morning. Hopefully they show a replay of the game later in the day. |

Well it's over, and to be honest I am very very suprised Spain took the lead in the first quarter. admit it, alot of you die hard Americans were ****ting your pants.
USA would have won by more if Carmelo Anthony didn't miss all those 3 pointers LOL 118-107 |

This team was great, good chemistry together and they really showed how far USA basketball has reached in 8 years. I am sort of glad that the game was close and it wasn't a blowout, it made it a lot more interesting to watch and people all over the world watching could see how emotional these NBA players are. It was also nice to see my man Kobe being the MVP that he is at the end ;)

Kobe really took over in the 4th quarter. I'd say Dwyane Wade was the MVP though, he was on fire throughout the tournament. Nice to see them all playing hard. Spain played a great game. I'm impressed by Rudy Fernandez and I'm looking forward to watching him in the NBA.
The international officiating sucks ****.It's so inconsistent. |

I always wondered why quarters are 10 minutes long..

Congratulations to the Americans for winning the Gold medal, unfourtunately I wasn't able to watch the game because it was at 2:30am Eastern Time.
I agree with Echoes, Dwyane Wade is the MVP of this tournament, with Kobe being a close second. The biggest surprise of the tournament is Chris Bosh, I'm not saying that I'm surprise on how well he played, it's just that I'm surprise on how many minutes he got. He was one of there best defensive players. Once again congratulations. |

To bad the season doesn't start next week, Chris Bosh could have taken his mometum straight to the NBA lol.

I don't know, but I kind of like the international game more than the NBA (with the exception of the officiating). There are hardly any timeouts. No commercials except between quarters. The game just seems to move a lot faster. I think the NBA should consider some rule changes to make it more like international bball.
