Is it true to say that America are the only country to take basketball seriously?

They always did, it's onlt getting better now. i'm just suprised they didn't make it to the Olympics. Anyways if you're talking about a Non-American to take basketball seriously I'm suprised you didn't mention Lithuania. Since the days of the USSR Lithuanians formed the core of the Soviet teams, not to mention they have reached the olympic semi final for basketball 5 straight times, since becoming a country that is.
