Police / Security / Protection / Guard jobs. Watching movies of the future I always see alot of security forces out and about patrolling the city. Even though it's a movie, I believe this is where art imitates life... or life imitates art... Nonetheless, I believe there will be MUCH MORE protection-type jobs out there in the future.

vilky, I have to disagree. There will be a lot more security in the future, but most human tasks will be replaced by technology (networked surveillance, rfid chips, ubiquitous computing, etc.)

Yeah, but the military has privatized almost all of its functions. There are 150,000 contractors in Iraq, most making way over 100,000 a year.

Airline pilots are in high demand and short supply right now. Expect to see a nice raise in pay for airline pilots soon enough. I know a guy who will get his commercial pilots license in a little over a year from now.

I may end up weighing 500lbs but I'll still find a way to pull it off sexily at the nudist colony. ~ysabel

Not sure. Because of fuel costs, airline companies can't raise salaries.
I bet you could make good bank being a pilot for a private company or a wealthy individual, though.

I am confused on this topic, because I know 2 men that both can fly commercial planes and well Private/corporate.. and 1 whom flies between 4 to 10 times a year and makes enough doing just that to live very nicely.. and then one who cannot for the life of him find a job. I can see how fuel could cause problems, but they do already get paid very nicely =) I'd love to do it, but my eyesight is no where near good enough.

I would have to say computers.. Probably network and security. The demand for network techs is raising like crazy. Then of course medical, nurses, but I don't see their salary sky rocketing anytime soon.

Jobs involving nanotechnology will dominate our society in 10 years. From 1995-2000 anything remotely related to the internet was profitable. The same will apply to nanotech in the coming years.
