Real Football or American Football?

It's been done NF and it was a huge hit so...
make your pic and give a reason.
------
I choose real football because it's more fun to watch and requires more skill.

Well, I'm going to go with American Football because it's what I've grown up with.

I like watching Euro football too though (soccer here). It's fun to watch the really close games. The game style is more similar to Basketball and Hockey, and Basketball is my favorite sport. I just never watched enough to like it over American Football though.

My question is why couldn't America pick a different name for their version.. It's not even close to being the same sport. A different name from the beginning would have solved a lot of annoying problems.

I know,American football has nothing to do with feet except running and no offence to any fan of this sport but I just think of it as Rugby with equipment and helmets.

I would have to choose American football. I grew up on it and played it when I was younger. That is really the only sport I watch right now, but I am working on trying to get back into almost all sports again. I just got burned out as a child, that was all my father would watch was sports 24/7 all year around.

I love both sports, but I had to go with American football. I've been a huge college football fan for a long time, and I've only been following soccer for 2-3 years. I'd rather watch a Premier League or Champions League match than an NFL game, but college football will always be my favorite sport.

I'm definitely going with real football. There's no question the competition is incredibly higher in real football. European football boasts the fiercest sporting rivalries in modern times (e.g. Rangers/Celtic, Barcelona/Real Madrid). This makes the Yankees/Red Sox look like child's play. Also, the fan participation completely annihilates American football's. Do a youtube search for "Best fans" and you'll see it's a landslide.

I'm not taking anything away from American football. Even though I don't really watch it, I don't bash it like a lot of real football fans do. Due to the immense differences, I don't think you can say one sport requires more skill than the other. They are completely different skill sets. I think it's safe to say real football requires more finesse, but American football is more tactical.

Finally, American football has no international competition, which is probably the greatest asset of real football. There is a lot more pride I think in playing for your national team on the world stage, against some of the greatest athletes in the world, not just your country.

Yankees/Red Sox doesn't even begin to compare to the big college rivalries like Ohio State/Michigan, UCLA/USC, Auburn/Alabama, Army/Navy, UNC/Duke, etc. I think some of these college rivalries are right up there with the European football rivalries. Fan participation is another story. College sports have great fans, but soccer fans are on another level. American professional sports (NBA, MLB, etc) are pathetic by comparison.

Well, I voted neither, but I'd have to say American football looks pretty fun to play, Gridiron I think it's called.

I am going with American Football, it is more physical, way more interesting to watch and all around a better game. I know this next statement will more than likely bring a bashing but F it I'll say it anyways. Soccer/Footballers are pussies they all flop at the least little sign of contact then lie on the ground like they just took a hit from a car. I did play one year of soccer as we call it here and several years of american football and can say for sure that the american style is way more athletically and mentally challenging.

Plus how breath taking and exciting can a 1-0 game followed by juice boxes and orange wedges before piling in the mini van for ice cream after the game be.
