They usually will stop the nipping after the 1 yr old mark. What type is he? Silver and albinos can be a bit more nippy than the standard brown.

When he bites , is it mainly on your finger tips and with his front teeth and then moves to his back teeth for the harder bites? If so he wasn't completely weened, and this could be the cause of the nippiness. Does he chew on the end of his water bottle as well?

He's albino, he chews his bottle sometimes and he actually goes for the tougher skin on my palms. I've had him since he was 8 weeks, was that too early to take him away from his mum?

Just a bit early. You will find that albinos are the nippiest of the lot. Put in a rawhide chewie in his cage. When he goes to bite you take the slack out of your skin by tensing up the hand. Gives him less to bite into and the skin also is tougher when you do that.

Some albinos will grow out of the chewing and nipping, the best thing you can do is handle him daily for about an hour and then let him run free in a closed room to get exercise.

But it mainly sounds like he is still teething. You can also put ground up catnip in his food to help calm him down and helps the nippiness.

Do you give him treats? Fresh fruit or dried will do. You can also use captian crunch with crunch berries (They love it) to help train him. Yes you can train them to do all kinds of things.

The more you handle him the faster he will grow out of it.

I had my ferret trained to guard my office..If you went in without me or my wife you the **** bitten out of you until you left the room.

This used to hang on my office door.

Unfortunately Mr Spot passed away 3 years ago. I still have the warning on my office door. Mr Spot was a Silver fancy ferret. He was the coolest.

I'll post a few pics as soon as I find the disk with them on it.
