In my case I'd prefer human company because I prefer a conversation with a response than a silence.

People. I don't have pets. We used to have pets when I was still living with my grandma but I never took care of them except for a couple of cats I'd let sleep on my bed.

Do you bond better with animals than with people? Animals. When I first see an animal, I'll try to go up to it to pet it. I don't do that with people.

They're not materialistic, which is something I despise, and they don't care if I haven't brushed my hair!

I love have my human interaction time if it is someone bubbly and not depressing, but if it is someone that hates the world and thinks only bad things happen to them, then I would much rather hang out with my dogs.

I don't really have a best friend as of late, and the people I do talk to drain my energy so right now I would definitely pick my favorite pet even though she drains my energy too, just in a better way.

I find animals easier to get along with, at least animals don't laugh at you or throw a fit when you ask a simple question.

I bond more with animals that benefit greatest from human dependencies. If I see a somewhat helpless animal, I immediately grow an attachment with it (no I don't sexually abuse it, you sicko!) and feel a need to 'mother' it. Perhaps I have a good heart or perhaps I like to play god.

Many people I know shut out all possible dependencies on other people. A good thing? Possibly but it does stifle the ability to bond (seriously. You, yes you. Get out this thread now!).

I find it very peaceful to look after an animal. As said above, all the issues humans throw around are missing. Instead, there's something pure and untainted about them.

Choosing, I'd go with my best friend without any doubt. As nice as that feeling is, they wouldn't provide the same stimulation or general benefits of a human. I'd certainly rather a pet than be alone though!

Do you bond better with animals than with people? Probably animals because I'd feel more confident. I'm not so great at meeting people for the first time - I get quite shy. With an animal I'll just run straight to it and talk to it the way Jim Carrey would in Ace Ventura.

Do you prefer spending time with animals over people? A bit of both I guess. If I'm feeling down and I want some *me* time it means I wouldn't want people around me. However, if an animal should approach me I'd be more than happy to let it sit with me.
Overall I need to be able to speak to humans though.
