Introvert or Extravert?
Are you more introvert (reserved, shy, less outgoing, and less less likely to thrive on making new social contacts) or extravert (gregarious, assertive, and generally seek out excitement)?

I am so shy I can't stand myself sometimes.
Actually, I am not shy in the least, what a waste of time that would be.

I'm an introvert in the sense that I prefer my own company, and I find silence easier than talking.
Also, women scare me.

You treat me as an outsider. You call an outcast, brand me an exile, but I am not so different from your kind, you know. Some small part of me was once Human. Perhaps this is why I fight for you...

They eat your brains, and suck your blood - tsk. I mean - it's perfectly normal to be scared of that.
...
I'm more introvert, probably - in the sense that I don't get a crisis if I sit and read a book for a few hours alone, or feel I must share what I've just read with someone right away afterwards. Apparently, that's what normal people do, I'm told.. in addition to knowing everything about every character on Desperate Housewives.. which I don't either. So therefore I'm more introvert than the "norm". Unless I'm not. Depends on the circumstances, I guess.

Is it? Then consider me abnormal. I love to sit in the privacy of my room and lose myself in a world of literature. So much better than real life.

Fleinn, I can't see you as being an introvert...sorry.
I prefer my own company, but that doesn't mean I'm intimidated or shy around people, it just means I have no desire to share every minute of my life with others. Can't someone be an extrovert without all the attachments that go with it?

I'm more extravert but I also have introvert times when I actually enjoy being left alone than with company to socialise. ETA: I can be really shy too in some circumstances but I must hide it really well because people who know me couldn't believe I'm capable of being shy, lol.

My real life persona scoffs at you. ..No, seriously - I had a real crisis the other day. I had just spoken with someone who had been on a "field trip" to Bruxelles. And he had started to accent his laughter, and speak about golf- scores (and btw, isn't this cheese with mildew extraordinary..). And I kept seeing myself becoming like that.
..When I feel that way, I'm not very easy to reach.

Yeah, that's what I say - it's strange, really. Officially, culturally, we're apparently all turning into reflected and educated individuals who love ourselves and our accomplishments, and know how to appreciate the depth and value of our being, in the post- post- industrial world, while seeing - seeing(!) to the future of humankind! But somehow I end up having to deal with completely ordinary, vapid, egotistical idiots who wants to waste your time anyway.
Should things really have to be that way?

Im definatatly an introvert. In my self-rightous manner I will confess that extroverts annoy me, they are usually crying for attention or me-me-me types. The worse for me are the sterotypical extrovert homosexual, Im not homophobic, infact it has nothing to do with sexuality at all, its just a personality trait that annoys me immensly.
I also dont relate seeking out excitment or being less outgoing really tieing in with being an introvert or an extrovert. You can be shy and retired but still a thrill seeker you just dont scream about it, or you can be the boisterous class-clown who never gets further than the local fast-food outlet and has no more ambition other than to entertain people with mindless banter and witisisms.
