It happened to my grandpa... its the chemotherapy that killed him when he just wanted to live out his life. I'd just want to be left be, especially if I knew it was terminal.

Depends. If I had enough chance of fighting it off completely, I'd go for the human guinea pig approach. If I'm doomed regardless of what I do, I'd go for just being left alone.

Pretty much already going down the guinea pig road already with the amount of medications I throw down my throat everyday...and if it helps someone else along the way then that is an added bonus :)

If there's reason to try the medical route (and I mean a really good reason) then I'd try it out.

BUT... if i didn't personally feel that it would be effective and that it would just be wasting my time then I would definitely just live out the time I had left.

"Ohh! OOOhhh!!!-Oh and again! I made it. I know it. I can't see it but I know I made it. Oh my God I made it. Alright, don't give up. This is for everything. This is when I don't have to do it. This one right here is when I don't have to do it, which leaves nothing else but the one. No I don't think so. Not there. God I wish I could turn the volume-OH **** Aahhh son of a **** I talk too much. ****." - 00vega -

There would be no end to the fun I would have (figuratively speaking). I'd most likely take my Lincoln cross country with my buddies and see all the things I've been meaning to see but never had the time or money to do so. Either that or I would take my buddies to Germany and spend the six months exploring areas of WWII interest.

Interesting question considering Randy Pausch recently died. He said this on the subject:

Quote:
If I don't seem as depressed or morose as I should be, sorry to disappoint you. If you have any herbal supplements or remedies, please stay away from me. I'm dying, and I'm having fun.
What if he had found something that cured him or allowed him to live a few more years? He'd still be alive today with his kids but on the contrary, if he tried to find something and FAILED then he would still be dead and he would have spent less time with his kids. Either way he had no more than 6-8 months with them minimum. So the question is did he get the most quality time that he could have by making the choice he did?

It's a gamble.

I may end up weighing 500lbs but I'll still find a way to pull it off sexily at the nudist colony. ~ysabel

I would want to be a guinea pig, not for myself, but for other cancer patients. I would still be happy and make good memories with my family and friends. Sure, i would love for the drugs to work and make me better, but then on the other hand I would mostly do it so they would have another case to know whether or not these new drugs may be successful

I still haven't voted in my own poll. I'm having a difficult time deciding which I would choose.

Speaking of which, I have a problem with the poll. Im assuming that the two options refer to the quality and quantity of life. As in "If you do the medical treatment, you might live longer, but your life will be hell". I take a small issue with that. To me, having a quality life could be giving up the small amount of life you had left to potentially help others (letting them test stuff on you).

Yeah?

There was a quote here, but the the person who SAID the quote and pretty much ASKED for it to be placed in my sig asked for it to be removed.

****ing ass...

Yeah?
So...has everyone taken a "let's overthink every thread" pill this week or what?
Yes Ex, you could look at it that way I guess. But, how many people would actually consider being a guinea pig as quality living?

BTW...you need a new mood.
