It talks about our world dominated by aliens where all the people who live on Earth are bound to work for them. At the age of 13 they get Capped and their minds then belong to the aliens.
The way it is all set up you learn from the book that since the aliens took over the plant there became complete world peace because the humans' minds were subjected to the will of the aliens.
This being a hypothetical question, would you prefer to live the way we do now or would you prefer world peace under the influnces of aliens?

Sounds a lot like the movie equalibrium or the book 1984. I would much rather live the way we are living now. Even though there would be world peace and we would live in an almost utopic society, we would be getting rid of the very things that makes us human - strong emotion (passion, envy, lust, love) and freewill.
