Re: Full Tilt *General*

Do you find that playing tight works simply because the average player is a donk? Is playing boring tight poker profitable at those levels? At what level are more advance plays effective?

BTW< I tried logging onto the poker game on this site and it wouldn't let me play!

Yeah i would say tight boring poker is profitable. It all depends what you are looking for tho. If you are looking just to have a good time and dont care about the money then obv. play how you want. If you are looking to make some money i would play tight. You can also increase the amount you win by play mulitiple tables at once. That will cut out the varience of your play.

What level is tight boring poker effective until? I'm sure you can do ok with minimal variance up to a certain point (probably 1/2) playing this style. In my home ring games, there is a point where playing tight 'standard' poker becomes unprofitable because we have a few guys waiting for the nuts, so it's not even worth playing them if they're in a hand... they play so few anyway. Have you played a level where the competition felt somewhat sophisticated and knowledgable, or is the field so big that most tables have at least a few donks and 2-4 decent players?
