Yeah. Your arguments are failing fast. It must suck to be on a sinking ship.

Voted against letting people argue self-defense in court if charged with violating local weapons bans by using a gun in their home. (2004)
|
The key phrase here is "violating local weapons bans." So you want people to be able to use illegal guns in their home? I'm all for self-defense with a gun... as long as that gun is legal and not fully automatic. You're arguing that people should have illegal guns in their house. Obama-3, You-0

And this is a problem to you? You just showed me another instance of Obama voting for legal concealed weapons. Obama-4, You-0

Successfully sponsored requirement that law enforcement videotape interrogations of suspects in some serious crimes. (2003)

...What does this have to do with guns and self-defense? Also.. why shouldn't they be videotaped? Doesn't that help keep the suspect's rights from being voilated by illegal interrogation methods? Obama-5, You-0.

Death Penalty = bad AND more expensive than life in prison.

Unsuccessfully sponsored measure to expunge some criminal records and create an employment grant program for ex-criminals. (2002)

Does it say what kind of criminals? It is very hard for a
reformed criminal to find a job. No job = more likely to commit crimes to get by again.

Unsuccessfully sponsored limit of one handgun purchase per month. (2000)
|
Congrats, you found a halfway decent argument. Who in their right mind really needs to buy more than one handgun in a month, anyway? It's not like he's taking away your right to buy a gun, he just wants to keep people from hoarding them as much as they could. Big ****ing deal. I don't even see how this is an issue for either side.

Voted against making gang members eligible for the death penalty if they kill someone to help their gang. (2001)
|
Again, death penalty = bad and expensive. Ten years of appeals and housing, plus the costs for the execution and care for the body, are way more expensive than what it would cost to keep a prisoner for life.
And if you even try to argue over-crowding I'm going to pull out my favorite argument and not move from it. Non-violent street criminals need to be dealt with in a way other than sending them off to prison. Jails and prisons aren't working.
