Screensavers Anyone?
The original reason for having them was to make sure that no single image or pattern ended up burning into your screen. Nowadays monitors have little to no burn-in. You can generally just use the blank screen screensaver or just turn off your monitor when you are done using your computer. I know I haven't had a screensaver in years. |

i read an article about this yesterday on yahoo, yeah i still have a screensaver, but it never comes up because i always log off when im done

I've never used a screensaver, I personally find them annoying and worthless, I don't see no reason to put one on my lap top if I leave for a long period of time. Personally like them as you can see.

Yes I use screensavers because I'm anal like that and I think some of them are perty.
At work I have an aquarium and I have that set for 2 minutes because I have to have it autolock if I walk away from my computer due to HIPAA. At home I have the Matrix. |

I have a screensaver but I pretty much don't use it.
Starfield baby! A classic windows screensaver. But usually I turn off my monitor because it makes sense to, but if you leave your screen on you might as well have it look cool. |

I just use the default Windows XP screensaver. It comes up after 10 minutes. My monitor shuts off after 30 minutes or something.

I've been wondering about this very thing...what's better, having a screensaver or switching your LCD on & off frequently?
I guess since the lamps inside have a lifespan, you're better served turning the monitor off when not in use? |

No screen saver here. My screen just goes to sleep after 10 minutes of no movements.
I don't see screen savers around very often either, occasionally see photo-album ones or company slogans/logos. |
