Evolutionism vs Creationism

I'm for evolutionism. There's no way animals could have just popped up out of nowhere. They evolved over billions of years. Anyway, what does everyone else think?

I don't care what people believe, as long as they don't force it on one another.

I'm siding with evolution because I find it hard to believe that things just "popped" into existence.

I am.

I know this has been brought forth in several threads since I've been around GF...personally, I don't see why it needs to be a "vs." situation.

I'm Catholic and my personal belief is that God created everything by putting evolution into motion. Is that so hard to fathom?

I've proposed that idea and I just get shot at

It's very much a "vs" topic because there is no compromising on either side. Not that you notice anyways.

I agree with the sense that God put things in motion and then we've just evolved from there.

Thats a good enough rationalization for me. Leave science to answer the questions and let god fill in the blanks and voids until they are answered.

So does that make you a Gradual Atheist or something?

No not at all. I believe the label you gave me last year was "Puzzleist". I like to take bits and pieces from every religion that make sense to me paired with the knowledge of earth and mankind as I know it.

I definitely believe in God, although I'm not a devout religious person. If I had to go with one of the Godless titles it'd be Nihilist, because I don't feel we humans are anything more than just another animal planted on the face of the Earth for no other reason than to take up space. Eat, Breed, and Die.

It forms. You just need one self-replicating molecule, and that can form in a soup of basic chemicals.
