Cool Jurassic Park: Scientifically Possible?

What do you guys think? If we are able to successfully gather complete DNA from prehistoric creatures do you think eventually we will be able to clone them?

I think it would be pretty awesome. It would probably be best to keep dinosaurs in a zoo or Jurassic Park type park setting but I think it would be pretty awesome.

Now I'd recommend anybody building such a park watch the movie and make sure they don't make the same mistakes or leave the same loopholes but it would be pretty awesome if something along the lines of a real live Jurassic Park could be scientifically engineered in the future.

What do you think? Do you think it's possible?

I think we should only explore the possibility once we have access to more planets. That way, we can stick the Dinosaurs on a deserted planet and use them for attractions, meat, bones and whatever else we need.

I damn well hope not. I don't exactly want to wake up to find out a T-Rex has escaped and is currently camping out outside my house.

I agree with Storm. There is a very good reason dinosaurs are extinct, so we can survive. While they are magnificent creatures, I'm perfectly okay with just seeing their bones.

I'm not worried about a T-Rex escaping.

The raptors, however......

I'm pretty sure raptors are alot smaller than they were presented in Jurrasic Park. Or maybe they were bigger I can't remember. Apparantly theres lots of inaccuracies in that Movie.

Do I think it's possible? I'd never say never but lets get it perfect with sheep first.

Do I think it's a good idea? Umm it would be amazing but potentially risky. I mean theres always a risk when caging a wild animal but dinosaurs could cause probably more havok. Then again we could be completely wrong about their behaviour, perhaps they'd be scared of big cities and stuff. Our environment is not their own so I don't know how they'd behave.

it would be a very risky thing to do, if they could figure out how to successfully clone dinosaurs then they could also clone tons of other reptiles and animals.

Obviously the world has been doing fine without them, as long as they kept the dinosaurs where it was impossible for them to reach me I'd be fine with it.

Actual velociraptors were about two feet tall at the most, maybe less, so it'd take a lot of them to be a real threat. The actual dinosaur that was 6 feet tall and looked that scary was called Deinonychus but I bet they figured raptor was simpler.

But then with genetics, they probably could alter them so that the real raptors would be just like in the movies. You never know.

T-rex Find Could Bring Jurassic Park to Life

The site above claims that it might be possible but most websites I've seen say that its not possible.

Jurassic Park, by the way, is the greatest movie of all time. But that's for a different thread.

I have heard they were about three feet tall, but either way, they were nowhere near 6 feet.
