Game Gear. Who still has it? Who Sold it? Never Had one?

Ok the thread title completely gives it away.

Basically we are trying to figure out who still has this system, sold it, or never got to have one.

Who had a game gear?

Who Has a game gear?

I still have mine! It's incredibly old too, like 15 years at least probably 16 or 17 though.

Never sold a game either and I have all of the good ones (I hate sports games don't know why I have those)

Sonic The Hedgehog (I still don't know the level select code for this game maybe there wasn't one, maybe for the game genie)
Sonic The Hedgehog 2
Sonic Chaos
Hook
Madden 95
NBA Live Action

It's also in pretty good condition if you consider how old it is, one pixel is out, I still have all of the original pieces for it, battery covers, Power Cord, etc.

I only have one problem with the condition of this thing though, for some reason there is a bunch of dust collecting under the screen, I have checked to make sure that the screens seal isn't broken anyplace and it's not but for some reason there is still dust collecting under the screen not really sure why.

There is also ONE pixel out on this thing right in the middle of the screen a black area that I can't get rid of and it's placement on the picture doesn't change when you tile the system so it absolutely must be a bad pixel which is too bad because I don't want to get it fixed and definitely wont.

So...

Who still has a game gear?

Who sold it?

Who never had one?

"Ohh! OOOhhh!!!-Oh and again! I made it. I know it. I can't see it but I know I made it. Oh my God I made it. Alright, don't give up. This is for everything. This is when I don't have to do it. This one right here is when I don't have to do it, which leaves nothing else but the one. No I don't think so. Not there. God I wish I could turn the volume-OH **** Aahhh son of a **** I talk too much. ****." - 00vega -

Never had one. I thought about getting one back in the day, but there just weren't any games on it that interested me enough.

My friend had one and it was whole lot more impressive than my sucky black and white gameboy at the time.

Yes it was much better than Gameboy, it had a color screen, good quality sound, even a backlit screen that I think was bigger than the gameboy's screen, also had a lot of really fun games (not that the gameboy didn't or anything), I'm not sure why sega didn't continue with making portable systems they could have made real profit because they were really good at it. Sega didn't need to put "color" right into the name of their portable systems it was a requirement to them to have color and they refused to sound so dumb at to actually put the word "color" into their system as opposed to Gameboy color.

I remember how smooth the controls were, does anybody else?

It was such a massive failure to me that I saw no point in needed it (and that's a lot coming from a kid who was a massive Sonic fan). The Gameboy had far superior games and was a lot more portable.

I have a Game Gear. Blue sports edition. I won't say it's bad, it has tons of good games. So long as you don't intend on taking it out and about to play it. The portability is even worse than the brick Game Boy, and the battery life is just awful. But with an AC adapter, it's worth the 20-30 dollar fee. It has plenty of great games, especially if you're too lazy to hunt down a Master System with games. I have maybe 25 games for it. Including most of the Sonic titles. Super Columns is probably my favorite game, and the song on endless mode is one of my favorite game masterpieces ever.

Did you know that the AC (or DC I can't remember) is the EXACT same adapter used to hook up the power for the sega genesis? it's pretty cool that they used the same thing for both of them cause my original Game Gear adapter broke so now I can use the adapter from my genesis but I also was able to find an adapter in my house that matches the same power settings.
