The bull**** statistic to me is that supposedly, 99% of people would not be affected by this. Then why even do it? That's the part that bothers me.

Again, some sunny day..

Virgin Media started throttling bandwidth and claimed the same figure - 99% of people unaffected. Could upgrade the effected areas and everyone's a winner. Capping is a very easy (and effective?) way out though.

250gb is a very generous amount in all honesty but limitations are always a step back imo. This is far from the only reason to avoid Comcast though.

250 GB is a lot of bandwidth for a normal customer to use. Youtube vids use about 2.5MB / minute bandwidth. If someone would play youtube vids 24/7, 7 days a week for a month, they'd use up all of their bandwidth by the 29th day or so. (1 month non stop youtube bandwidth = ~263,71 GB)

Only pirates would be affected by this plan. I don't know why some people are upset but then again I don't know all the antics of Comcast because I don't live in the US.

I just don't get it though. Why is it even necessary? If so many people do not go over, then why even bother with it? What is Comcast getting at?

Because over time I'm sure they'll lower the bandwidth limit and still charge the same price, or even more.

Man that sounds so.. jacked.

If they're changing to a plan restriction then they should revamp they're whole system. If I have a limit then how about if I use half your limit I only pay half of the $40 plan...

Damn corporations, I hope they go bankrupt.
------
So I assume the band width upgrade to 8mbs will double the limit right?

Probably not. Comcast is a bunch of money grubbing whores. They've been trying to suck as much money as they can out of my parents for years now.
